Dough:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
¾ cup shortening
½ cup milk

Syrup:
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup butter

Directions:
Directions:
Boil syrup ingredients for 5 minutes

Mix dough ingredients like pie dough and divide into 8 parts. Pare and core 8 apples into quarters. Place in center of rolled dough and fold dough upward around apples. Sprinkle apples with sugar, butter, nutmeg, and cinnamon first. Put in deep pan.

Pour syrup over top.

Bake at 350º for 30 minutes
