4 quarts swiss chard
1 quart onions - chopped fine
Diluted vinegar - (with water)
2 cups white sugar
1 T. salt
1 T. dry mustard
1 T. white pepper
3 T. corn starch
1 T. celery salt
1 T. turmeric
1 T. mustard seed

Directions:
Directions:
Wash the stalks well and cut with scissors into small squares. In a stock pot add the stalks, onions and diluted vinegar (enough to nearly cover the vegetables). Cook until they are tender & clear.

Mix the sugar, salt, mustard, pepper, corn starch, celery salt, turmeric, and mustard seed. Stir into the cooked vegetables (still in the vinegar mixture) and cook until there is no raw taste.

This may also be stored in open glass containers if it is covered with a large layer of paraffin.
