1 cup hot-rise cormeal mix
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. sugar
pinch of salt
1 egg
1 cup of buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º

Pour 1 tbsp. of vegetable oil in a small (6 inch) iron skillet, and place in the preheating oven to heat up.

In a mixing bowl, whisk all dry ingredients together. Add egg and buttermilk, mix thoroughly. Pour cornbread into the hot skillet and bake for 25-30 minutes, making sure cornbread is done.
