2 c. brown sugar
1 c softened butter or shortening (I use 1/2 cup each)
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 c flour
½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 c chopped pecan

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter/shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add vanilla and beat.
In separate bowl, sift together dry ingredient (flour, baking powder and baking soda)
Add dry ingredients to mixer, small amounts at a time, and mix.
Mix in pecans

Divide in thirds and roll each portion into roll and wrap in waxed paper. Chill in refrigerator for at least 1 hour, until ready to use.
Slice into quarter inch rounds.
Bake at 375º for 10 minutes or until slightly brown
