1 3/4 quarts water
3/4 tbsp. salt
2 cups quick cooking grits, uncooked
3 med garlic cloves, mince
1 lbs. Velveeta
1/2 cup half and half
1/3 cup butter plus more got serving.

Bring water and salt to a boil in a large pot. Gradually stir in grits and garlic. cover, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add cheese, half and half and butter, simmer, stirring constantly until the cheese and butter melts

This is Drew's favorite breakfast. Or maybe just the most vocal out of the oldest 3 grand daughters. KK and Maddie sure ate their fair share. Because of the age difference between these 3 and the younger 2 grand daughters (Avery and Hailey, spending the night at Grandma Joy's were in two different time periods. I think Avery likes this breakfast the most.
When Scott and Chris were young we lived on a 54 acre farm. We raised Registered Canadian Herfer's in East Tennessee. Grits were a stable in our house. My Mother called me the girl from the TV show "Green Acres" starring one of the Gabor sisters.
