1½ c sifted flour
3¾ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¾ c sugar
¾ c butter
2 c peeled cooking apples(2 medium apples),chopped fine
1½ c dark seedless raisins
2 large eggs
1 tbsp milk
sugar for topping

Directions:
Directions:
Resift flour with baking powder,salt&sugar into a mixing bowl.Add butter&mix until mixture is like fine bread crumbs.Stir in apples&raisins&add well beaten eggs&milk. Beat thoroughly.Batterwill be stiff.Spread in a well greased,9"square pan&sprinkle generously with sugar.Bake at350ºfor55-60minutes.Allow to cool slightly before cutting &serve warm.
