5 T. flour
1 tsp. salt
tsp. onion salt
1/4 c. melted butter
2 c. milk (or light cream)
1 c. Minute Rice
1 c. turkey or chicken broth
Grated American cheese to taste
1 c. cooked asparagus
2 c. sliced turkey
2 T. toasted silvered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Stir flour, half of salt and onion salt into melted butter. Stir in milk, cook until thickened. Pour rice into 2 qt shallow baking dish. Combine broth and the rest of salt. Pour over rice. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 375 for about 20 minutes. Top with almonds.

This is the original recipe from my mother-in-law. I usually cut way down on the salt and substitute green beans for the asparagus.
