1 C soft shortening or butter
1 1/2 C sugar (half brown/white)
2 eggs
2 3/4 C flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the first 3 ingredients together. Next, sift together and stir in the rest of the ingredients. Chill dough. Roll into balls the size of a walnut. Roll in mixture of 1 T sugar and 2 T cinnamon. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 12 min.

I remember making snicker doodles with my grandma Walker. I can imagine in my mind putting the rolled balls in the sugar mixture, then watching them bake, then eating with a glass of milk.
