3/4 C shortening
1 C brown sugar
1/3 C molasses
1 egg
2 1/2 C flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground gloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the first 4 ingredients together until fluffy. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and gloves. Stir into molasses mix. Form in small balls, roll in sugar. Place 2 inches a part on cookie sheet. Place in 375º oven for 12 min.

Ginger is a good remedy for an upset stomach. When I had to be put to bed with my pregnancy carrying Jacob, I was told ginger was a natural alternative to help my pre-term labor. It worked for 3 weeks.
