1 cup yellow cornmeal
2 eggs
1 can Cream style corn
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 cup milk
1/4 cup bacon drippings
1/2 grated cheese
1/2 lb ground chuck (browned lightly & drained on paper towel)
1 med onion, chopped
4 jalapeno peppers, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Grease pan using bacon drippings and preheat oven to 350º.
Mix batter using first 6 ingredients.
Pour half the batter in baking dish or pan.
Add the next four ingredients in layers in the order given (cheese, meat, onion, peppers).
Pour remaining batter on top.
Bake in 350º oven for 1 hour.
This recipe is right size for an 8" square pan or corningware dish. Also for 9" skillet.
