1 cup sugar
4 tbsp cornstarch
¼ tsp salt
½ cup cocoa
2 ½ cup milk
3 egg yolks
1 tsp butter
1 tsp vanilla

MERINGUE
3 egg whites
½ tsp cream of tarter
2 tsp cold water
6 tbsp sugar
pinch of salt
½ tsp vanilla

PIE
Combine 1st 4 ingredients
Add to milk
Heat till smooth
Cook until well blended and warm
Add beaten yolks
Cook until thick stirring constantly

MERINGUE
Beat eggs till fluffy
Add tarter & water
Add sugar slowly
Salt & vanilla
Beat until stands in peaks
Cover pie & bake 15-20 minutes at 325 degrees
