2 ¼ c. flour
½ t. baking soda
1 c. unsalted butter; room temperature
½ c. sugar
1 c. packed light brown sugar
1 t. salt
2 t. vanilla
2 large eggs
2 c. chocolate chips; semi-sweet

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º.
2. Whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
3. In a mixer bowl, combine butter with both sugars; beat on medium speed with paddle attachment until light and fluffy. Reduce speed to low. Add salt, vanilla and eggs. Beat until well mixed; about 1 minute. Add flour mixture slowly until just combined. Stir in chips with a spoon.
4. Drop heaping tablespoon-sized balls about 2-inch apart on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Bake until golden around the edges but soft in the middle; about 8-10 minutes.
6. Let cool 1-2 minutes on the baking sheet and then transfer to wire racks to completely cool.
7. Store in airtight container up to 1 week.

I've made this recipe as a tart for the kids' birthdays. You bake at 325 degrees in a buttered tart pan for 40-45 minutes. Let cool 20-25 minutes on wire rack before removing from pan.
