This is the recipe as printed in the paper:
2 large loaves unsliced white bread
1 medium onion, chopped fine
Salt and pepper
1-2 tsp sage or poultry seasonings
1 pound butter

This is my mother’s version of the above:
10 slices white bread
¼ lb butter
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 small onion, finely chopped
Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Remove crusts from day old bread and crumble into bowl. Add onion, salt, pepper, sage/poultry seasoning. Mix well. Melt butter, pour gradually over crumbs, tossing to distribute well. Stuff turkey and roast.

This is a classic stuffing for turkey. It is the only one my mother used. I have no idea who Dr. Billings was!
