1 c. sugar
1¾ c. flour
½ tsp. soda
½ tsp.salt
½ c. cocoa
½ c. shortening
1 egg
½ c. milk
½ c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
36 marshmallows cut in half
pecan halves

Directions:
Sift flour and measure. Sift again with soda, salt, and cocoa. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually blending thoroughly. Add egg, beat well. Add flour mixture and milk alternately. Beating after each addition. Add chopped nuts and vanilla. Mix. Drop by level tsp. on well greased cookie sheet. About 2" apart. Cookies will spread. Bake in 350º for 8 minutes. Top with marshmallows and return to oven till marshmallows soften. Frost with frosting.
