Ingredients: 2 c flour ½ c oatmeal 1 c brown sugar ¾ c butter ½ tsp baking powder ½ tsp cinnamon ½ tsp salt 8-10 apples, peeled and sliced
Topping: 1 c water 1 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1Tbsp corn starch

Directions: |
Directions:Cut butter into first set of dry ingredients like a pie crust. Save one cup for topping. Press the rest of mixture into a greased 9X13 inch pan. Cover with apples.
Topping: Mix water, sugar, vanilla, and corn starch into saucepan. Boil and let cool (may put in freezer for quick cooling). Pour liquid over apples. Spread the saved cup of crust mixture over top of of apples. Bake at 375º for 50 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream |

Notes: Easier to make liquid topping first so it has time to cool. Also you can add 1 tbsp of lemon juice to prevent apples from turning brown while waiting for toppings to cool.
