Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
In saucepan combine:
⅓ C butter
¼ C water
Bring to a boil to melt butter, remove from heat.

Stir:
1 C flour
1 C sugar
1 Tsp cinnamon
½ Tsp soda
¼ Tsp salt
¼ Tsp nutmeg
¼ Tsp ginger

Add:
Butter mixture
1 egg, beaten
¼ C buttermilk or sour cream
½ Tsp vanilla
Mix to combine.

Fold in:
1 C shredded carrots
½ C raisins, if desired

Directions:

Pour into 9x9x2 greased pan.

Bake at 375º for 20-25 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool in pan.

To serve, sift powdered sugar over top

Cut into bars.
