½ c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
½ c. cold coffee
3½ c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. applesauce
1 c. raisins
1½ c. chopped nuts

Mix shortening, sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Add cold coffee. Add sifted flour, cloves, soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Add applesauce, raisins, and chopped nuts. Bake @ 400º.
