5 teaspoons granulated sugar
4 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons minced dried onions
1 1/2 teaspoons shredded Romano cheese
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 bay leaf

1/2 cup canned diced tomatoes
5 teaspoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon shredded Romano cheese
1 teaspoon shredded Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf

Brown the ground beef in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring often.

Makes 2 1/2 cups.
