2 cups brown sugar
2 cups water
1 pkg. seeded raisins
⅔ cup Crisco
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
½ teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking soda dissolved in ¼ cup warm water
4 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Put first 8 ingredients in saucepan and boil 3 minutes. Set aside to cool. Mix in remaining ingredients. Bake in round angel food cake pan for 1 hour in a 350º pre-heated oven.
