1 medium-sized chopped Onion
1 lb green beans cut into 11/2 inch pieces
2 medium chopped potatoes
1 heaped tablespoon of urad dahl
1 heaped tablespoonful of cumin
1 medium chopped tomato
2 small chopped chillies
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons oil

1 At medium heat add oil to the pot

2 Add onions, urad dahl and cumin and allow braise for about 2-3 minutes.

3 Add potatoes and allow to cook until soft adding some water at your discretion in order to aid in the cooking process..

4 Add beans that have been cut into 2 pieces and then cut into each piece into 3 lengthwise.

5 Add the tomato, chillies and salt and allow to cook until beans are still slightly crisp.

I often freeze green beans that I precut for later use.
To cut down on cooking time steam potatoes in microwave then add to green beans.
