Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3-4 lb chuck roast
1 pkg au jus gravy mix (we use McCormick)
1 pkg ranch dressing (Hidden Valley)
pepperocini peppers (may use some juice too)
1 stick butter
1 onion (sometimes we put a larger sliced onion on the bottom of the crockpot)

Directions:
Directions:
Put beef in crockpot, sprinkle with gravy mix and ranch mix. Top with a stick of butter and the pepperocini peppers.

Cook on low temp in the crockpot for at least 8-10 hours. If roast is still not tender after 8 hours, cook another hour or so. Can put a little of the pepper juice in the crockpot too if you want. Some people use this as a post roast recipe and add potatoes, carrots, etc. We don't usually do that.

Tip: it can get salty so don't add any salt. Can use unsalted butter but we rarely have any so haven't done that.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Dale and Mona found this recipe in an online blog, tried it, and now it is a low energy input meal for supper whether at home or at the lake. Mona frequently throws it in the crockpot knowing children and grandchildren will be coming to the lake in the evening and may want a late supper.
