3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 T cider vinegar
2 T chopped onions
1 lg clove garlic, minced or 1/4 t garlic powder
1 1/2 t ground ginger
1 1/2 lb flank steak

Directions:
Directions:
Place flank steak in rectangular baking dish. Combine oil, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, onions, garlic, and ginger. Pour over flank steak and marinate for 6 hour or more. (Longer, such as overnight is better, refrigerate - up to 3 days)

Barbecue steak over hot coals, turning once, until done to your preference. About 5 minutes on each side for medium to medium rare.

Carve in thin slices, cutting on the diagonal from top to bottom of steak.

We had this steak ready to have for the first time on November 17, 2015. On that day a tornado hit Washington, IL. We lost all power. Later in the day I said we should cook the steak on the grill. It would only spoil in the refrigerator. I didn't have much else that I could cook but we all loved the steak and from that day on we refer to it as Tornado Steak.
