Ingredients: Pie dough: 3 c flour 1/2 tsp salt 3 tsp baking powder 1/2 c shortening 3/4 c milk
Filling: 3 c rhubarb (cut in small pieces) 1 c sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 2 Tbsp melted butter
Sauce: 1/2 c butter 3 c sugar 3 c water

Directions:Pie dough: Mix all dough ingredients and mix - like pie crust. Roll into rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into six pieces
Rhubarb filling: Mix sugar, cinnamon, salt and butter and divide over rhubarb. Put about 1/2 cup rhubarb in center of each piece of dough. Place in large baking dish at least 2 inches deep.
Sauce: Mix water, butter and sugar in saucepan and heat until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted. Pour over dumplings Bake at 350º for 45 minutes or until sauce is thickened.
Serve hot or cold. (with ice cream, cream or milk)
