1 cup margarine
1 cup light brown sugar
3 egg
1 teaspoon soda dissolved in 1T boiling water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pound pitted dates, chopped
1 pound walnuts, chopped
1/2 teaspoon all spice
2-3/4 cups flour
Red and green candied cherries

Directions:
Cream margarine and brown sugar; add eggs. Separately mix flour, cinnamon and all spice together. Add soda dissolved in water. Slowly add flour mixture to creamed mixture. Mix well. Fold in dates and walnuts - chill dough. Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with small piece of red and green candied cherries. Bake 350º about 10 to 15 minutes.
