1 (9-inch) deep dish frozen pie crust
1 tbsp. butter
½ cup chopped onion
1½ cups shredded Swiss cheese, divided
1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
4 eggs
1 cup heavy whipping cream
⅛ tsp. salt
⅛ tsp. pepper
⅛ tsp. ground nutmeg
1 cup crumbled bacon, divided

Bake pie crust at 425°F 6 to 8 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F.

Meanwhile, in a small skillet, sauté onion in butter until softened, about 3 to 4 minutes. Cool slightly.

Toss shredded cheese with flour. In mixing bowl, beat eggs, cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Stir in ¾ cup crumbled bacon, onion and ½ cup cheese.

Place 1 cup shredded cheese in the bottom of the pie crust.

Pour egg mixture onto cheese. Sprinkle with remaining bacon.

Bake 350°F for 45 minutes or until set.

You can use homemade pie crust or refrigerated pie crust if you prefer.
You can use 1 lb. of bacon or you can use 1 cup of real crumbled bacon bits.
