"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Place ingredients in bread machine in the order listed above (water, sugar, butter, flour, yeast, salt). Mix on the dough setting.

Once dough is ready, shape into loaf and place in greased loaf pan. Allow to raise until doubled in size (30 - 60 minutes depending on temperature).

Bake in 325 degree oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Quickly rub the top with a stick of butter for a nice shiny finish.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I will sometimes do half whole wheat four and half white flour. Never do all wheat flour for this recipe. It will not turn out.
