Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 pkg. hash browns thawed
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tin cream of mushroom soup (you can use cream of chicken if you prefer)
1cup cheese whiz
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheese
salt and pepper

Topping

2 cups crushed cornflakes
1/2 cup melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Heat soup and cheese whiz until well blended. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. In large bowl mix hash browns, green onions, salt and pepper and 1/2 cup melted butter. Next mix in soup mixture until well blended. Stir in shredded cheese. Spread in a greased 9x13 baking dish. Cover and put in fridge until ready to bake. Cover with topping prior to baking.

To prepare topping mix 1/2 cup melted butter with crushed cornflakes. This can also be prepared the day ahead but keep at room temperature.

Remove casserole from fridge half hour before baking. Top with cornflakes mixture and cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes.

Enjoy

Note: I prefer to crush cornflakes rather than use cornflake crumbs….nicer texture.
