2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup soft shortening
2 eggs
3 Tablespoons buttermilk or sour milk
1 cup mashed bananas
2 cups flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Spray 1 9x5 loaf pan with non-stick baking spray.

Mix together the sugar, shortening and eggs. Stir in buttermilk and bananas. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and add to wet ingredients. Add chopped nuts.

Bake for 50-60 minutes.
