Peach mixture


Ingredients:

4 cups of peaches (peeled and sliced)
¾ cup sugar
2 t lemon juice

1. In a small saucepan add the sliced peaches and lemon juice, and 3/4 cup of sugar.

2. Place over medium heat for a few minutes, stirring occassionally, just until the sugar has dissolved.

3. Remove from the heat and set aside.
 

Batter

6 T unsalted butter
1cup flour
1 cup sugar
3 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
3/4 cup milk
cinnamon

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Place the butter in a 13x9 inch pan and place in the preheated oven.

3. Once the butter has melted remove the pan from the oven.

4. In a medium size bowl whisk the flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.

5. Stir in the milk. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

6. Pour this mixture into pan over the butter.

7. Gently smooth into and even layer.

8. Spoon the peaches mixture over the batter.

9. Sprinkle the top with ground cinnamon ad desired. Suggested 1/2 to 1 t.

10. Bake at 350 degrees for 38-44 minutes or until top is golden brown and baked through.

11. Serve warn with vanilla ice cream.

1. If using canned peached, use 1 quart undrained. Skip peach mixture step.

2. Will keep at room temperature for 2 days or in the fridge for 4-5 days.
