6 apples
1 cup sugar
cinnamon to taste
1 cup self-rising flour
½ cup light brown sugar
1 stick of butter, softened
pecans to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Grease bottom of casserole dish or deep dish pie plate.
Peel and cut up apples and place in the pan.
Mix flour, sugar, butter, cinnamon and pecans until well mixed and sprinkle over apples.
Bake at 350º for 45 minutes.

You can use plain flour instead of self-rising, but if you do, add 1 ½ tsp. baking powder and ¼ tsp. salt.

My Granny got this recipe from her friend Betty Mahan and adapted it to her tastes. Granny used a lot of cinnamon and few pecans.
