¼ C sugar
3 T brown sugar
2 T chili powder
2 T smoked paprika
1 T onion powder
1 T ground black pepper
1 T salt
1 tsp dry mustard
½ tsp. cayenne pepper
2 dashes of liquid smoke if desired
2 red onions sliced
2 C water
Favorite BBQ sauce
Pork Butt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients and rub on meat and place in slow cooker
Top with onions.
Cover with water & liquid smoke (if desired)
Cook for 8-10 hours.
Remove & discard fat as well as most of the water in the cooker.
When cool enough to handle shred & return to slow cooker with a little of the juice from cooker & add BBQ sauce & heat 1-2 hours

This can be made in a 175-200 degree oven for 6-8 hrs if the pork butt is to large for your slow cooker.
Meat can be pulled off the bone and a mixer used to shred. You must do this in small batches as the mixer shreds pretty fine.
