2 cups softened butter
1 cup sugar
6 egg yolks beaten
5 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
1 tsp almond flavoring

Mix and chill dough.

Directions:
Directions:
Using large end of melon baller, shape dough into a rope and tie in wreath/pretzel shape. Carefully pick up and dip in beaten egg white (foamy), green or white sugar, chopped nuts. Add a chopped cherry piece for the bow.

Bake 350° 10-15 minutes or until slightly golden brown.



Denise and I would sneak these out of the freezer when we got home from school and mom & dad were at work. These are our all time favorite childhood Christmas cookie.

Half:
1 cup softened butter
½ cup sugar
3 egg yolks beaten
2 ½ cups flour
½ tsp vanilla flavoring
½ tsp almond flavoring

Three-forth:
1 ½ cup softened butter
¾ cup sugar
4 egg yolks beaten
3 ¾ cups flour
¾ tsp vanilla flavoring
¾ tsp almond flavoring
