1 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1⁄2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Small chocolate mint wafers, flat ones (my favorite)
walnut halves

Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
Sift flour, soda, and salt.
Cream butter and sugar well.
Add eggs, water, and vanilla.
Blend in dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly.
Drop by teaspoon.
Put candy on top in the center.

There was something so special about these cookies with the chocolate center.
You can also make them by rolling out the dough and then slicing one layer, add the chocolate, and then cover with a second layer.
Sometimes the chocolate centers are hard to find.
