1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 extra-large egg, lightly beaten
1 tablespoon zested orange peel
1 1/2 cups uncooked rolled oats
3/4 cup dried cranberries, lightly chopped
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped

Preheat oven to 375º. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in the egg and orange zest. Gradually add in the flour mixture until well blended. Stir in the oats, cranberries, chocolate chips and nuts. Using 1 tablespoon cookie scoop, drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on baking sheets.

Bake at 375º 10 to 12 minutes, rotating baking sheets halfway through baking time, until golden brown. Let cookies stand on baking sheets for 2 minutes. Remove cookies to wire racks to cool completely.

Store in airtight containers.

The original recipe did not ask for cranberries. I thought it was a nice touch, the tanginess from cranberries and the sweetness from the oranges.
