CAKE:
1 cup butter, melted
1 cup water, boiling
4 Tbsp cocoa
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup buttermilk or sour milk
2 beaten eggs, add to milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda

FROSTING:
1 3/4 stick of butter
4 Tbsp cocoa
1/2 cup chopped pecans
6 Tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1# powdered sugar

Directions:

350 degrees. Bake cake 20 minutes

In a small saucepan melt butter. Add cocoa and mix well. Pour in boiling water. Cook until bubbles for 30 seconds Set aside.
In a large bowl stir together the flour, sugar and salt.
Pour chocolate mixture over top and mix together .
Stir together the buttermilk and beaten eggs. Mix together the vanilla and soda and add to the buttermilk mixture. Add to the batter and mix together.
pot into a greased jelly roll pan (10 x 15”) Bake
FROSTING:
In saucepan melt the butter. Add cocoa powder. Stir until bubbly for 30 seconds. Add the milk and vanilla. Pour into the powdered sugar and mix. Add pecans.
While cake is warm pour frosting over and spread. Let cool.
Enjoy. This is one of Mark’s favorite cakes. Enjoy!
