Ingredients: Firstly, purchase a rack of ribs that you wish to BBQ! I usually like the pork full rack and it takes up the entire space inside of my pellet smoker grill.
Things you need:
• A Grill or smoker, with flavored pecan or apple pellets • Apple cider vinegar • Cookie sheet • Heavy duty aluminum foil • Favorite BBQ sauce • About 6 hours • An appetite!

Directions:1. Following the unwrapping from its package, remove the thin membrane holding the inside of the ribs together. This will allow the meat to fall off the ribs a bit easier after cooking.
2. Rinse the ribs thoroughly.
3. Place the ribs on a cutting board and take a few paper towels and dab the ribs to remove the majority of the moisture.
4. Choose a dry rub of your liking. I usually use what is in the cupboard, but I have had great results simply using an all in one seasoning like “Emeril’s all-purpose seasoning blend”.
5. Layer both sides of the ribs, liberally, by hand rubbing the seasoning onto the meat.
6. Set your Grills temperature to be around 275 degrees F, let it come to temperature prior to placing the ribs on the grill. I usually place the “Bone” side down first, to really heat up the bones in the rack.
7. Let the ribs cook for 1 to 1.5 hours and then flip and let cook for an additional 1 to 1.5 hours. Along the way, check the ribs a few times during these 2 to 3 hours and mist Apple Cider Vinegar over the ribs. This will help tenderize the meat and keep the ribs from drying out.
8. We have cooked the ribs for about 3 hours now, so its time to completely encase the ribs with heavy duty aluminum foil. I usually slide the ribs off the grill onto a cookie sheet, this makes it easier to transfer onto the aluminum foil to not tear any of the meat away on accident. (Your ribs should look like the lighter colored picture by now.)
9. After the ribs are placed bone down onto the foil, take your favorite BBQ sauce and heavily coat the ribs.
10. Completely encase the ribs in multiple layers of foil. This will steam the ribs making them more tender. Place the ribs “meat” side down first.
11. Let the encased ribs cook for an hour and turn them over so the “Meat” side is now facing up, let them cook for an additional hour.
12. After the hours has gone by, open the top of the foil to completely expose the rigs, but leaving the foil under the ribs to act as a pan to catch the juices.
13. I usually pour an additional half of a cup of apple cider vinegar right into the foil, so it will collect under the ribs to help with keeping the rack juicy!
14. Then add another layer of your favorite BBQ sauce and let it cook for one more hour. During this hour drizzle some water over the top of the ribs to guarantee they are juicy!
15. Pull the ribs off of the grill and let the ribs stand for 10 minutes. (Your ribs should now look like a darker deep caramelized color)
16. Now start to take care of that appetite by round up your plate for some juicy tender ribs, Yum Yum! I am getting hungry just typing this up! |
