"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 small bag pinto beans
Lots of hot boiling water
1 small onion (whole)
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons salt... I start with 2 tablespoons, taste as they cook, and add more if needed.

Directions:
Directions:
First dump the small bag of beans on the table. Sort through them and look for small dirt balls, or rotten bean remove and throw them away. Place the beans in a deep bowl, or pan and start stirring them around as the dirt comes out dump dirty water and do the same at least 2, times. Once cleaned let stand in cold water covering over top of beans. I would let them sit in the water for at least 3 hours. In a large pot bring to a boil water, once water comes to a rolling boil, add the clean beans, allow to boil again, once the second boil starts turn down flame to medium, and continue allowing them to cook for at least 3 hours. When bringing them to the second boil add the salt, onion, and garlic. Don't allow water to diminish. If more water is needed boil it before adding to the beans. Cold water will make beans look black. This is the time to taste for salt. If needed add a little at time until there salted to your taste. If you want to fry them; do the following. In a skillet add about 3 Tablespoons oil. Allow oil to become very hot. Add beans a little at a time. As they boil turn heat down. After they have boiled a good 15 minutes, you can start smashing them down with a potato masher.

Personal Notes:
This is strictly for Zak. I haven't ever seen anyone eat as much as Zak. He loves Pinto Beans! Funny, because his father never liked them. Maybe my Great Grand Child, who will be born in February, will love beans too.
