1 c milk, scalded
5 tsp salt, scalded with milk
4 tbsp sugar
5 tbsp butter
3 c water, lukewarm
1 pkg dry active yeast
5 c flour - plus 6 to 7 more cups of flour

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk along with 5 tsp salt. Add 4 tbsp sugar and 5 tbsp butter. Let cool to lukewarm. Mix 1 pkg of active dry yeast with 3 cups lukewarm water. Add milk mixture. Add 5 c flour and beat with a spoon. Add between 6 and 7 more cups of flour and knead. Grease and let rise to double in bulk. Punch down and place in loaf pans, or on a baking pan, and allow to rise again. Preheat oven to 425º and bake for 20 to 30 minutes until loaves are brown on top.
