1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped raw apple
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, measure, then sift again with baking powder and salt. Melt butter in a saucepan; remove from heat and stir in sugar. Cool slightly, then beat in egg thoroughly; add vanilla. Fold in flour mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Spread batter in greased 8x8" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 mins. until golden brown. While still warm, cut into 2x2" squares
