1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
2 c. finely chopped apple

Topping:
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 T. melted butter or margarine

Directions:
Directions:
In mixing b owl, cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Fold in chopped apple. Spread batter in greased 13x9x2" baking pan.

Combine topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 - 40 mins.
