½ c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1½ tsp. vanilla
½ c. cocoa
¼ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. soda
Maraschino cherries (blotted dry)

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and gradually add to creamed mixture. Batter will be very firm. Shape into 1” balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Push 1 cherry halfway into each ball. Spoon 1 heaping teaspoon of frosting over cherry. The frosting will spread during baking. Bake 350º for 10-12 minutes. Cool on rack.

3 tsp. cherry juice
½ c. sweetened condensed milk

Melt chocolate chips in sweetened condensed milk in a small saucepan over low heat; add juice and stir till smooth.
