1 cup sliced onion
1 tbsp butter
8 hard cooked eggs, sliced
2 cups shredded swiss cheese (8 oz.)
1 can (10½ oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
¾ cup milk
1 tsp prepared mustard
½ tsp seasoned salt
¼ tsp dill weed
¼ tsp pepper
About 6 slices caraway rye bread, buttered and cut into 4 triangles each

Cook onion in butter until tender. Spread in 9” sq. baking dish. Top with sliced egg. Sprinkle cheese on top. Beat remaining ingredients (except bread) with a fork. Pour over cheese. Overlap bread triangles on top of casserole. Bake at 350º for about 35 minutes, or until heated through. Put under broiler for 1 minute or until bread is toasted.

To do ahead: Prepare casserole but don’t top with bread slices. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. At baking time add bread slices and bake for 40-45 minutes.

Note: 9”x13” pan is 1½ times the recipe
