Meat Sauce


Ingredients:

2 T extra-virgin olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1/2 lb. ground beef
6 oz. Italian sausage, removed from casings and finely crumbled
2 16 oz. cans crushed tomatoes
1/4 tsp. Dried basil
1/4 tsp. Dried oregano
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste

Simmer about 20 minutes then salt and pepper to taste.
 

Cheese Mixture


Ingredients:

16 oz. whole milk ricotta cheese
1 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 c. Romano cheese, grated
1 T parsley, chopped
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Freshly-ground black pepper
1 T basil, chopped
1 T fresh oregano, chopped
1 egg, lightly beaten

Mix together.
 

Lasagna

12 cooked or no-boil lasagna noodles
Cooking spray
1 c. Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Spray dish.
Spread a few ounces of meat sauce in bottom.
Layer noodles, cheese, meat sauce 3-4 times.
Cover with sprayed aluminum foil and bake at 325 for 45 minutes. Turn off oven and let rest in oven for 30 minutes.
