450g of self-raising flour
2 tsp of baking powder
75g of butter
50g of caster sugar
2 eggs
175ml of milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to fan 200ºC
Lightly grease two baking trays
Add the flour and baking powder into a bowl, add the butter and rub it in until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs
Stir in the sugar
Beat the eggs together and make up 300ml with milk. Put 2 tbsp aside for glazing the scones.
Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring in until you have a soft dough
Turn the dough out on to a lightly floured surface and flatten it to a thickness of 1 – 2cm
Cut out the scones and place on to prepared trays and brush the tops with the leftover egg to glaze
Bake for 10 – 15 minutes until well risen and golden
Transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool
