3 – 4 large cooking apples, peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
1 tbsp of water
2 -3 tbsp of caster sugar
For the crumble
150g of plain flour
1 tsp of ground cinnamon
75g of butter, chilled and cubed
25g of porridge oats
75g of light soft brown sugar
1 pie dish

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 180ēC
Place the apples, water and sugar into a saucepan set over a gentle heat, and cook, stirring every minute or so for approximately 10 minutes
Taste and add more sugar if necessary
Transfer the apples into the pie dish
To make the crumble place the flour and cinnamon in a large bowl
Add the butter, using your fingertips, rub it in until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs
Add the oats and sugar and mix to combine
Sprinkle this crumble mixture over the apples and bake for 30 – 45 minutes until cooked and golden
Allow to cool and serve with cream, ice cream or custard
