"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
This is a recipe my stepmom used to make for us all the time when I was in highschool. It was one of my favorite recipes that I'd beg her to make. My mom and dad live about two hours away now so now that I'm grown and married it's been awhile since I'd had this dish. While talking about old family memories during our last visit this dish came up. I asked mom for the recipe and made it as soon as I got back home. The taste took me back to those afternoons after getting off the school bus and opening the door to the amazing smell of this cornbread. It definitely has a nostalgic place in my memories, my heart, and my stomach!
