1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt1/2 c. sourdough starter
1 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1 c. raisins or chocolate chips

Directions:

Cream butter or margarine and brown sugar until light. Beat in egg and vanilla. Sift flour with baking soda, spices and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with starter, beating well after each addition. Fold in oatmeal and raisins or chocolate chips. Nuts may be added if desired. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen

It's fun to use sourdough starter for something different but it really doesn't have a sourdough flavor. I used a mixture of raisins and chips. I found they needed considerably more time than the 10 minutes to be the color I wanted. These are good cookies even if they aren't sourdough flavored.
