1 1/2 pound beef round or chicken, cut into 1 inch cubes.

1 T grated fresh ginger root or 1 tsp. ground ginger

2 cloves garlic, mashed

2 T brown sugar

1/2 cup soy sauce

2 T oil

Freshly ground black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
1. Place meat in a deep glass bowl. Combine ingredients in a 1 cup measure and pour over meat and coat well. Allow meat to marinate in refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours, turning occasionally.

2. Place meat on skewers, grill 4 inches from hot coals or under pre-heated broiler turning and basting frequently for 12 to 15 minutes.
