8 oz bacon, chopped
1/2 C flour
2 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
3 quarts chicken stock
6 C (about 2 lbs) medium diced potatoes - Yukon or other boiling type
Corn (Fresh from 10 ears or 3 lb frozen)
2 C half and half
8 oz sharp white cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
If using fresh corn, remove from cob and blanch in boiling salted water for 3 minutes.

Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and reserve fat.
Add onions and cook until translucent.
Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and turmeric.
Cook 3 minutes.
Add stock and potatoes
Simmer 15 minutes
Add remaining ingredients. Cook five more minutes until cheese melts.
Garnish with bacon.
