35 Vanilla Wafers
1/2 c. Sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/8 tsp salt
3 eggs, separated
2 c. milk
1 tsp vanilla
5 ripe bananas, sliced

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour, and salt in the top of a double boiler. Blend in the egg yolks and milk and whisk until smooth.

Cook uncovered over boiling water, stirring constantly for 10 to 12 minutes until thickened.

Once you have reached the desired consistency, it should easily coat the back of a spoon or rubber spatula, remove from heat and add in the vanilla.

pour about ⅓ of the custard into the bottom of a 1½ Quart baking dish and spread it across the bottom. Add a layer of wafers and a layer of bananas. Pour another ⅓ of the custard over the bananas. Continue to layer the wafers, bananas, and custard to make 3 layers of each, ending with the custard.

If you like, garnish with sliced bananas and crushed vanilla wafers
